Interpretations of Autopilot system(UAV)
I have seen some friends discussed this topic already couples of days before, I would like to share some messages more here, and pleased to discussed with you further for our lovely flying!!!
On the basis of commercial and civilian application.
should be awared that the UAS (autopilot system) is much differ from "Infrared balancing instrument" the latter one is always used for hobbyist RC plane, acutally it's a pilot's aid-system not autopilot system.
here below are the main features for the uas , this one is especially for Unmanned helicopter, actually, the autopilot sytem for helicopter is more complex than which used for fixed-wing airplane.
Features for the UAS( unmanned aerial system/autopilot system)
> GSP , adopted GPS/IN inertial nagvigation. it can set you path for you aircraft and do not need to concentrating on controlling it so tiredly.
>6 DOF inertial measuring unit/ magnetic-field sensor and barometer.
providing aircraft with stable flight , do not affect by any interference such as altitude, geography environent and adverse-weather.
> failsafe mode/Auto-hovering mode after losing signal from you controller(transmitter).
> landing protection, sometime you aircraft lacking of power or fuel, it can be detected and landing automatically.
> Simplified the way to control you aircraft, initially as a beginner I cannot operate it until after several month's simulation , but every beginner can use it with the autopilot system without any special practice, of couse practice make perfect.
as above illustrated are some maind features, there are some other aid-function as well , hard to list it all, sorry for my laziness
previously we also discussed the controllable range ( distance between your controller and aircarft). we all unsatisfied with the controllable distance, currently we can only to increase the transmitter's power. I heard that the military UAV using Satellite's signal , but as commercial use we are unable to do it , my friends kiding with me that" hey man you can hire our country's satellite" it's would never be a question anymore!!!!!!
