Hi folks,

I'm planning on making an FPV rig from scratch. I've been reading tons, and I think I have a decent parts list. I'm still trying to find ways to decrease the cost. Anyone know of cheaper alternatives to what I have listed?

I've been making the list in a google spreadsheet.. there was no pretty to paste all that into this forum text box, so just click this link to see it.

I'd love your feedback, especially anything that can reduce the cost of this project LOL

Thanks!

wow great work on getting this price list together.

i think the only way you are going to save money on this setup is to eliminate the goggles. you could use some old monitor or a portable dvd player instead of the goggles.

i would like to warn you that hobby king and its affiliates are known to have some customer service issues. there are lots of rants and complaints on some of the u.s based rcplane forums. on the other hand, the people who get their products without any issues seem to be happy with what they bought.
You PM Me on RcGroups :-) About the Fatsharks!

You Should of said you were here!

Hey spago!

Great work, your list!
I can recommend the R2hobbies.com shop. They have very good prices, fast shipping and a perfect customer service!
Ah sweet list!

Great list!

You can change iCinema googles by trimersion, is the same Kopin 640x480 module used in this iCinema, fatshark, rvision etc... See this thread http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=925051

Ok, can you post the link for EasyStar? i can't find this price at Debbie's RC World...

Thanks...
Thanks folks! WOW that mod guide on the Trimersion is way over my head... it appears I can grab one off Amazon for $100 + $9, but with my zero experience at such things, I'd bet I'd have a pile of goo when I'd thought I was done!! The most delicate soldering I've ever done is a rocker switch and a momentary for a potato cannon lol... this is like working with hair and dust compared to that...

Snaydher, the link on the speadsheet worked for me: http://www.drcwonline.com/browse.cfm/eas...1,0,0.html maybe putting it here will help somehow?

Thanks for the warning on HobbyCity... my LHS says they can order the stuff in for me at wholesale and their markup would be about what I'd pay for shipping. So ... hopefully any problems that would happen for most folk won't happen to a shop!

Thanks for posting your list . That is what I am starting to do now my self and this will help 100% .
I know it's older, but thanks for the list. I too am looking into putting together my 1st FPV setup, and something like this is very helpful.
Hi Motoguy!
Welcome and thanks for your comment Smile
Nice to hear that this thread is helpful for your!
It would be nice if you could report about your first FPV project, here.

Best regards
Heiko
