I Finally I Flew full FPV with my easy star Today, YAY :0 Apart from being sooooooooo scared it went very well, The video looks more choppy than it actually was to fly with my goggles.
The CCD cam I have is rubbish, gunna order a new cosmos one tomorrow.

Be warned its a very windy video. Any idea's would be welcomed as regards to make my easy star more stable in flight and less buffeted by the wind. Maybe I need to add some balast ? The CG was fine and a little nose heavy.

Anyway, Heres a crappy film of messy Flying I put togeter.....

In the Air at Last SmileSmileSmileSmileSmile

Lisa.
Hey Lisa!
Congrats to your FPV Maiden! Smile
Looks really good, but dangerous flying area for your plane Big Grin

WINDMILLS Big Grin

Am I right: You used a 14db patch without tracking?

Congrats Lisa.

Well, I'm planning FPV flight around these fans

They have 100m of diametter !! Really big things.

But, when they rotates, it means windy day, it means hard to fly and record nice nonshaking videos.

Yeah it was just on top of the car, I suspect I need some osd and tracking then lol
do you think an stick atenna would be better? Or a 8dbi?

Only dare fly close as my rc tx is a cheap e-fly 100c.

Wienfurt, yeah it was only like 5 mph on the ground. In the air it was a little faster.
So weight might not fix the wobble?

Anyway I'm chuffed and feel I can now justify spending loads more cash on setups Smile
Hi Lisa!

At the moment I am using a 8dbi patch antenna without tracking. Now I am working on my EZ-Antenna tracker, so I can track the 8dbi antenna Wink
But for tracking you can use higher dbi antennas
Congrats Lisa
Excellent Lisa, and great video, and energizing music. I just had another failure with my wing this evening, so this gives me encouragement.

It's great to see you got a plane up and flying. I know the EZ* is the 'given' model for this kind of work, I just can't seem to force myself to buy one, and when I do see one at a local shop, it's with Tx/Rx so I don't buy it.

I think my next model will be a mid-size glider (1-2 meter). My wing feels more brick than plane Sad
Thanks Flench and Jc1,
Yeah I couldnt buy an Ez* either untill I gave in Sad But I'm now flying lol.

After that first flight video, I thought I needed more stablilty, So I added a gyro to the rudder, I angled it at 45 degrees to help lessen the roll as well.
Although much better I feel it still needs more help as it still has a tendancy to roll a little and wobble.
I've just finished an alieron Mod today and added the gyro to the alierons instead for a smoother flight. I'm gunna fly it this weekend, so fingers crossed. The gyro is in the middle under the tape.
Here's some pix ....

I'm not great at building and my alierons are not bad for a novice, we shall see if it still flys this weekend lol.
If it flys I've promised myself a funjet Smile
Looks not too bad, Lisa!
Adding a gyro was a good idea to add more stability!
Crossing my fingers for your next flight, too Smile
Hi Lisa, did you have success with the ailerons and additional gyro?
