I had this "old" Aiptek 720p cam laying around, bought it mainly for its size and the weight, perfect for strapping it on my planes/helis! One thing that let me down was its poorly manufactured lens of plastic and the 7mm something lens that was on it originally offered no FOV. I had some standard lenses for my sn555 in various mm laying around, i have much "laying" around i guess, probably a rc:ers diseaseBig Grin

As always i just HAD to take it apart and check the modability=)

To my surprise i found out that it uses standard lens threading and that it screws right in! Now it serves as a CHEAP flightrecorder onboard my
Skyfun! They cost about <500 Euro in sweden and records 30fps 720p and 60fps dvd quality right on to a SD card.

Also, dont forget to take out the color filter from the original lens. I dont know why they use that for? UV protection? If you don't glue it on the back of your new lens the picture wont have any sharp colors and will appear like sepia!

Her is a short video with samples!:

very short samples because i didnt find my memorycard=)

edit: its possible to run it without the lcd connected, just plug a audio plug in the
av out jack! Otherwise it will start then just shut down! i will post some in flight videos
soon! i will run it from my fpv battery with a volt regulator (runs on 3,7v - 5v)
