I have put together a new FPV plane!
This time I have a little Alfa Spitfire, it's quite a small plane so I had to use small equipment to make it work.
first try I had standard size gear but that made it way to heavy, but this time I used a Flytron FTX 50 videotransmitter with an old Fatshark CCD killer camera (gen1). to power the FPV equipment I used a single 50mah lipo cell.

JXD videorecorder make my video darker than it really is.

Maiden flight went well (until the last low pass).
It's a really nice flying airplane and the FPV equipment worked good aswell, I would like to try the gen2 CCD killer camera, and maybe put in a pan servo but apart from that I'm very pleased.

and yes it survived my last Low passBig Grin
What a beauty!!!
Congratulation to your Spitfire Smile

I'm interested in your Flytron tx, did you tested the maximum range?

Best regards
Heiko
Very nice . Love the Spit16 .
Thanks!

I haven't tried the maximum range of the flytron tx yet!
but Ill do some more tests next weekend.

My last flight with my Alfa spitfire..
I had a great morning of flying my spitfire, but in the end of the flight the sun started to come up, and that made my gen1 CCD killer very dark.
and then I was suprised when a tree jumped out of nowhere and catched my spitfire!

I will miss my spitfire, It's one of the best flying FPV plane I had so far!
now I have to start looking for something new again..
Uhh, I hate jumping trees Big Grin
Bad to see the nice plane destroyed, my condolences.

Best regards
Heiko
Maybe if it was a 109K4 you be better off , J/K . Darn trees ...
I wish there had been a Messerschmitt!
much easier to shake off than those sneaky trees hiding in plain sight..
Maybe you should consider a real ccd camera. The ccd killer is not a very good one.
Get a sony 420tvl or 540tvl ccd. You will love it.
I have ccd cameras for my other planes, and I prefer to use CCD when possibe.
but this plane is very small and I had to keep it as light as possible.
my original setup was actually a kx131 (witch is the smallest CCD i know of) and a regular size VTX, but it flew like a dog, no power and super high landing speed..
