Hey guys,

Iv'e recently discovered the world of RC quadcopters, and UAV shortly after. Sounds fun. I would like to build a quadcopter (APM2). Now this thing can be programmed to fly to a destination using gps. I would like to add a FPV system to it so i can watch as it flies.

Iv'e heard its a bad idea to fly in populated areas, but would this make a difference as its not actually radio controlled.

Can anyone also suggest a good video system for use in the UK, im thinking the gopro hd, but in terms in communication i have no clue.

Could i not just stick my old android phone on there and video call my PC?

Hey all.........
I am wanting to increase the range of my futaba 2.4 gig by installing a wifi 2 wat power booster. I have all ready removed the stock antena from the futaba TX and installed a lead from the board and up through the opening where the stock antena was. This part was relativily easy by simply unpluging the U.fl plug of the stock antenna from the PCB and plugging in my lead that I bought on e bay. The SMA plug on the other end of my lead is a "fire wall" type plug that protrudes through the top of the TX case and screws into place. On this the new antenna is attached for now but will accomodate a lead that will lead to the 2 wat power booster. I have never operated or even seen this arangement to boost power of a 2.4 gig system, I have only read about it. the 11db omni antena I am using now seems to be working fine........Now all I have to do is install the power booster. Has anyone out there operated a system like this and did it increase your range? any knowlege or advice from you "Pro's" out there would help...........
Thanks

Hi all,

Yes, I know this is a trivial to some of you thing but either my brain is slipping the odd gear or there really is something missing.

I have built the frame of my Gaui 500x quad and am now ready to attach the landing gear. I've been through all the bits and bobs that come with the landing gear and all I can find on the web is that it 'attaches with 4 screws'. OK, so where are the screws and the corresponding holes on the underside of the 500x? All holes are currently filled ...

If anyone has a work-around or the exact answer, please get back to me as, in this instance, square pegs do not go in non-existant round holes!

Thanks for your time ...
Yes, I know this is a trivial to some of you thing but either my brain is slipping the odd gear or there really is something missing.

Hi everybody. We are in the final stages of creating HD DVDs to include with customers purchases. These DVDs are tutorials, video owners manuals etc.

I was talking with my staff about the special features part of the DVD and it was suggested that we have the special features part of the FPV DVD have flight videos from FPV helicopter pilots from all around the world. I think it is a great idea! So I am looking to all of you for that.

The DVDs ending credits will show a FPV helicopter flight as the credits roll. I was originally going to use one of my flight videos or just make a new one. But we all agreed to have a contest and the winners video be used in the credits section. We have obtained permission to use music from some world famous composers.

If you would like one or more of your FPV helicopter videos used in our DVD. Please post the video here or a link to the video in a reply to this thread.

If you would like your Full name used in the credits instead of your user name, then please send me a PRIVATE message with a link to the video and please spell your name the way you want it to appear in the credits. All videos selected to be in our DVD will be given proper credit for their contribution and will receive a copy for free.

I am asking all FPVcommunity pilots to vote on whichever videos they feel are the best. I will be making a final decision in the next 12 days so those videos can get edited and placed in the DVD before final production starts.

We look forward to you being part of this venture and helping us show the world how great FPV flying is.

Hi Guys,
I traded one of my Tricopters for a nice new Stryker so of course this must be set up for FPV.Here are some beginning pics.Going to have to decide between my board cam or Jetguns GP CX-161.The Spektrum receiver is coming out and my Chainlink receiver will be in its place.

I dont have a fancy TX so just using V-Tail mixer. One more thing to cram in there Also had to switch jumper on Cyclops OSD to run video off main battery as there is no room for a second battery.
